15 Writing Tips That Will Make You a Better Writer

In my view writing is a skill which is very hard to develop, but you can make it too easy by doing daily practice and hard work. If you are a blogger, you need to think of yourself as a better writer. Having good  writing skill is the only and main key of your blog success.

Here I’m discussing some good writing practices that will make you a better writer.

1. To be a good writer, firstly you need to become a good reader. So, read as much and as often as you can.

Writer does two things above all else: Read & Writes.

2. Grammar: Learn the rules of grammar. It decides the quality of your blog post. Pay lot of attention on using punctuation.

3. Get inspired daily by reading some great writers. Their excellent and stylish writing skill really courage you to write better.

4. Avoid changing tenses in between sentences. Don’t turn one tense to another when you write a single article. Avoid to irritate your readers and make professionalism in your writing.

5. Write continuously: In your practice time, write daily for 30 minutes minimum.

6. Avoid to keyword stuffing: In your single blog post do not repeat same word again and again.

7. Avoid long sentences and remove unnecessary words if any.

8. Proofread your article at least two times before submitting your work for publication.

9. Read English magazine or newspaper daily. Make sure you have a dictionary and thesaurus available whenever you reading. it’s help to make your vocabulary strong and courage you to write in more professional way.

10. Use spell checker tool.

11. Subscribe to some popular blogs such as writer’s help, copyblogger. which give you better writing tips you need.

12. Participate in NaNoWriMo ( National Novel Writing Month). Which challenges you to write 500,000 words novel in a month and track your progress.

13. Allow yourself to write daily.

14. Drop the passive language “Is being”, “I used”, “that is being”……Gone, Outdated.

15. Make it your passion, habit, business. Stop procrastinating , sit down and write.

    Good tips Manoj, I should be careful not to repeat the same words. I often repeat the word ‘so’ as often as possible so I need to minimize usage of that word. Writing in point wise manner to enables us to become a good writer and people love to read points rather than paragraphs.

    That’s a well put article man :)
    Avoiding the insertion of images while writing and forgetting about pressing the backspace is a great idea to keep the flow. Proofreading is something you should only do at the end of the post.
